Loon Woman This painting expressed how I felt reconnecting with my family’s territory. The loons sang constantly and I had such a strong sense of ancestral women going back to the earliest times. There is a world beyond the one we live in. Our ancestors are watching and they welcome our presence on the land. The spirit of Indigenous women is beautiful – no matter who humble we may look on the outside or how rough our paths have been. This woman lives inside us all.
